It was the age of the "Roaring 20's" that spouted the true beginnings of country music. It was the music of the Appalachians, a music drawn on the down home hill country and progressing into what today has become known as Country Music. Country music spurred from fiddle tunes, to roots tunes, mixing Celtic, bluegrass, southern gospel, folk, Americana, southern rock, soul and a few more genres thrown into the mix to become one of the leading markets in today's world of music.
In 1996 The Independent Country Music Hall of Fame was established to recognize those recording artist, songwriters, producers and independent country music industry persons who deserve recognitions for the important roles they have played within the Country Music Family. Due to the lack of funding and serious health issues it was closed by the owners and lay dormant from 1999 until 2013 when it was acquired by The Cramer Multi Media Group which is now CMG Global Media.
It is our hope to revive this great entity and build upon what was started back then. If you would like to nominate some one for possible induction please drop us and email with their names and the reason you think they deserve this recognition. All inductees must have spent a minimum of fifteen years in the music business. Our induction committee is made up of individuals who have spent their lives involved in the Country Music industry as independents. We will allow no politics to become a part of what we hope to build.
We would appreciate your comments and your emails as we
continue to build this website and program.
